Playscheme
The Princes Hall scheme runs every school holiday, except Christmas.
The children participate in a variety of activities, including, arts, crafts, sports, games, reading, drama and music. The scheme offers a home from home experience where the children choose what activities they do, including lots of messy play! Every day the children go to Municipal Gardens for outside play (weather permitting). Municipal Gardens is just a short walk from the Princes Hall.
This scheme is quieter than others on offer as the focus is more craft based activities, where the children make things based around themes or participate in games organised by the staff and chosen by the children. This scheme takes in total 16 children per day.
Drinks, biscuits and fruit are provided during break times.

Important notes for parents and carers
- Please make sure you have completed a personal details form before the start of the playscheme. Forms are available from the playleaders on site or from the booking office. Registration will take place in Princes Suite. Please accompany your child when you drop them off and sign them in. Please collect them from the playscheme at the end of the day and sign them out.
- If someone other than the parent/carer is going to collect your child, please ensure that your child has a letter to confirm this.
- We cannot accept a child who is sick or who has a contagious condition.
- Please tell the senior playleader if your child is taking any medication. You should give us this in its original container, in a sealed envelope with the child’s name on it. You will also need to complete a form highlighting your child’s requirements and give written permission for that medication to be administered. There are no fridges on site to store medication.
- These schemes are not suitable for children who require one to one supervision.
- Children whose behaviour is frequently unacceptable or disruptive could be asked to leave the playscheme. We will only do this after full consultation with the parent/carer.
- Please keep staff fully informed of any change in circumstances, which may affect your child’s behaviour.
- PLEASE NOTE The playscheme is only registered and insured until 5.30pm. Please collect your child/children by 5.30pm, as we cannot take any responsibility for them after that time. If, for any reason, you are late, we regret that we will have to make an additional charge. This will be £2 per quarter of an hour up to one hour.
- Copies of our playscheme policies and procedures are available for you to read on site at the playscheme.
- A drink, biscuit and fruit will be provided in the morning and the afternoon. This is included in the price.
- Your child will need suitable clothes for sports activities, art and craftwork. They will also need the following: - packed lunch in a cool pack and a drink (no glass bottles) - sunscreen and a sun hat in the summer.
- Please make sure all belongings are labelled and your child has a coat as children will be using outdoor areas.
- Children should not bring any toys or games to the playscheme.
- PLEASE NOTE Children aged four who are at school full time and have been in school for a term, are now eligible for a limited number of places on the playscheme. If your child is aged four please specify when booking what school they attend.
- NUT ALLERGIES 3 weeks’ notice required. When booking your place, you need to inform us that your child may require epi-pen treatment. Advance notice is required, as our first aider needs to be trained to administer the treatment to a named child.
